Society, True Knowledge and Leadership !!!

 

What is Society?
What would be True Knowledge?
Why do you think all these Social Changes happening all over the world at every level of society?
How should be the Leadership?

The Word we say “Society” is as easy and complex at the same time. Everyone of us must be well known with the term yet if you truly ask yourself the deeper meaning of society, we may not come up with the one single answer. Do you think that society is a mere aggregation of Individuals? It is not mere aggregations of people. The people living in society holds so much of Values. They hold values in different important issues like Freedom, equality, mutual respect, tolerance, morals and ethics, material interests, friendships, love, affection and so on. The meaning of society may be different for different people. Mostly, their answers will be motivated from their mental stage, position, the community they belong to, their needs and so on and so forth. It can be Indian, American, Hindu, Muslim, agricultural, urban etc. The word Society has a long history of meanings. From Emile Durkeim to Karl Marks to Sir Anthony Giddens and all the renowned Thinkers, all have highlighted the Society on terms of Different Aspects. Some laid emphasis on Order, some on rationality, some of materialism and so on. Society can be studied through different disciplines like History, Political Science, Sociology etc but the common aim of all the disciplines is to Move Forward through the process of Development by holding the human together.

Only True knowledge can help us Move Forward along with holding all the human beings together, despite of their separate identity as a society. As the Hindu Upanishads says, True knowledge is only that enables a person to move from Darkness to Enlighten. But it is not necessary that knowledge always helps us move forward, sometimes such knowledge can bring us back in the ancient age where prevails Superstition, religious fears, social inequality in terms of Caste, Creeds, Color, religious fundamentalism and terrorisms. Hence, while defining True knowledge, we should always be aware of two things. First Propaganda and Second Healthy criticism. In the process of Acquiring the true knowledge, one should always differentiate the knowledge from Propaganda. In todays world, it is difficult to differentiate the above two because of wide spreading division and hate at the various level of people, for the fulfillment of personal interest of few People. Second point to be highlighted is Healthy Criticism. In an Open Society, there must be room for every question and the respective answers. Only then, society can grow and prosper in its real terms. If there is no room left for healthy criticism, then such society shall be a weapon of terror. And we all are aware of increasing terror in the world. It is an important feature of studying human society that one should gather the courage to name a criminal engaged in the act of sabotaging social solidarity and human peace. One should be able to call a spade a spade and not by any other name. Knowledge for centuries has grown through ongoing debates and dialogues and not through imposition by a dominant group and a media-powered propaganda. Two essential ingredients of for processing true knowledge should be (a) Objectivity i.e., free from biases and (b) Uniformity i.e., remaining Fair and Equal in Application.

The thing I would like to coin down here is, to hold the society together, we must require a Wise Leadership which can hold the societies together along with the instinct of Growth and Equitable Distribution of benefits. One should always keep in mind the words from Mahatma Gandhi Ji, “ Always contribute to the efforts aiming at wiping out the last drop of tear of the last man”.
